To facilitate the transition, ETS also indicates a comparable score on the previous 0–120 scale for a period of two years. The new scale should therefore not be confused with the IELTS scale, even though both use numerical bands: they are distinct systems and equivalences must be checked in the official tables.
How long do TOEFL results last?
TOEFL iBT scores are valid for two years from the test date . Therefore, the exam should be scheduled according to the actual application deadlines.
When might TOEFL be suitable?
TOEFL may be an appropriate choice when the student:
- must apply to a university that accepts him;
- wants to demonstrate language skills in an academic setting;
- is comfortable with the test format;
- already knows the score required by the course;
- must use the result within the following two years.

Trinity College London: GESE and ISE
The most relevant Trinity qualifications for students are GESE and ISE , but the two exams do not serve the same function.
Trinity GESE
GESE stands for Graded Examinations in Spoken English .
It is an individual exam based on interaction with an examiner and focusing on the communicative use of spoken English. The different grades are linked to the CEFR levels.
It may be suitable for students who want to:

Trinity can be evaluated when:

Trinity shouldn’t be chosen simply because it’s perceived as easier or more suitable for young people. Even then, the degree or level must be consistent with the candidate’s actual skills.
Does a study holiday automatically prepare you for a certification exam?
It depends. A study holiday abroad can help you improve your:

- fluency;
- confidence when speaking;
