Astrolabio offers a Special Insurance Coverage to allow you to enjoy your trip with complete peace of mind.
The text of the guarantees and benefits reported below is for informational purposes only.
Effects and limitations are detailed in the Insurance Conditions (click here to view the full document), which will be provided to all insured participants of the trips.

HEALTH ASSISTANCE:

  • Medical consultation
  • Dispatch of a doctor or ambulance in Italy
  • Referral to a specialist abroad
  • Medical repatriation and repatriation of remains
  • Repatriation with an insured family member
  • Repatriation of other insured persons
  • Travel of a family member
  • Accompaniment of minors
  • Repatriation of a convalescing insured person
  • Extension of stay
  • Information and provision of corresponding medications abroad
  • Interpreter available abroad
  • Advance payment for urgent expenses
  • Early return
  • Advance of bail abroad
  • Referral to a lawyer abroad
  • Sending messages abroad

REIMBURSEMENT OF MEDICAL EXPENSES

In case of illness or accident, Europ Assistance reimburses medical, pharmaceutical, and hospital expenses incurred by the insured for urgent treatments or interventions received during the trip, within the following limits:

  • Italy: €1,000
  • Europe/World: €10,000

A fixed deductible of €35 per claim and per insured person applies to each reimbursement.

THEFT AND DAMAGE TO LUGGAGE

Europ Assistance covers damage to luggage and personal belongings that the insured had at the start of the trip, including clothing, caused by theft, burglary, fire, robbery, breakage, snatching, loss, misplacement, and damage, up to a maximum of €1,300 per claim, per insured, and per trip.
The maximum indemnity per item, including bags, suitcases, and backpacks, cannot exceed €200. Reimbursement for replacement of identity documents is limited to €100.

TRIP CANCELLATION

If the insured, due to modification or cancellation of the trip or rental booked, is charged a penalty by the travel organization for one of the causes listed below (provided they were involuntary and unforeseeable at the time of booking), Europ Assistance will fully reimburse the penalty, excluding any taxes, deductibles, and registration fees.

The coverage is provided only in the event of cancellation or modification due to:

A) Illness, accident (with clinical documentation proving the inability to travel), or death:

  • Of the insured
  • Of the spouse/cohabiting partner, child, siblings, parent or parent-in-law, son-in-law or daughter-in-law, grandparents, uncles/aunts, third-degree nephews/nieces, siblings-in-law, business partner/co-owner of the company or studio, or direct supervisor of the insured. If these people are not booked together with the insured, in case of serious illness or accident, the insured must demonstrate that their presence is necessary.
  • Of a single travel companion, provided they are insured and booked together with the insured.

In the event of a claim involving multiple insured persons booked together, Europ Assistance will reimburse all eligible family members and only one travel companion. In case of serious illness or accident, Europ Assistance doctors may perform a medical check.

B) Inability to take already planned holidays due to employment changes, failure of exams at school (for the insured attending a recognized middle or high school);
C) Material damage affecting the insured’s home, studio, or business requiring their essential presence;
D) Inability to reach the departure location due to natural disasters;
E) Summons or citation in court as a criminal judge or jury member after booking the trip;
F) Accident with the insured’s means of transport preventing them or their travel companion from reaching the departure point (verified by official reports);
G) Breakdown of the insured’s transport vehicle, confirmed by roadside assistance services;
H) Theft, loss, or robbery of identity documents (ID card, passport) needed for travel abroad when replacement in time is impossible.

TRIP INTERRUPTION

If one of the following Europ Assistance services is activated:

  • Medical repatriation
  • Early return
  • Hospitalization of the insured for at least 2 days

Europ Assistance reimburses the pro-rata portion of the unused trip, up to €5,000 per insured and €15,000 per claim. The reimbursement is calculated by dividing the total trip cost by the number of initially planned days, and payment is made for the unused days. The day of interruption and the originally planned return day are considered a single day.

CANCELLATION PROCEDURE

In case of trip modification or forced cancellation, the insured must submit a claim within five calendar days of the cause of cancellation and no later than the trip start date, by accessing https://sinistrionline.europassistance.it and following the instructions (or directly via www.europassistance.it in the claims section),

or by sending a written notice via telegram or fax to +39 02.58.38.45.75, addressed to:
Claims Settlement Office (Trip Cancellation) – Europ Assistance Italia S.p.A. – Piazza Trento, 8 – 20135 Milan, indicating:

  • Name, surname, address, phone number
  • Europ Assistance membership number
  • Reason for cancellation or modification
  • Contact address of the insured

If the cancellation is due to illness or accident of the persons listed in point A, the notice must also include:

  • Address where these persons can be reached
  • Type of illness
  • Start and end date of illness
  • Within 15 days, the insured must provide Europ Assistance Italia S.p.A. with:
  • Europ Assistance card copy
  • Medical certificate in case of illness or accident
  • Hospital records if hospitalized
  • Death certificate if applicable
  • Trip registration or similar document
  • Payment receipts (deposit, balance, penalty)
  • Booking confirmation from the travel organization/agency
  • Invoice for the charged penalty
  • Cancelled ticket copy
  • Trip program and rules
  • Travel documents (visas, etc.)
  • Trip booking contract

Europ Assistance has the right to take possession of unused travel or rental documents.
Failure to comply with claim reporting obligations may result in total or partial loss of the right to indemnity according to Art. 1915 of the Italian Civil Code.

ACCIDENTS

If an accident abroad results in permanent disability (even partial) after returning home, coverage is up to €77,500 with a 3% deductible. In case of death due to an accident, the insured amount is €51,650.

TRAVEL PACKAGE REFUND

In case of early return due to operator insolvency or non-performance, reimbursement of the paid travel package price is provided according to Art. 47, paragraph 2 of the Italian Tourism Code.

SUPPLEMENTARY INSURANCE

In addition to the Base Policy, you can purchase the Supplementary Policy for €120, which increases the medical expenses limit by €250,000 and baggage coverage by €700.

PRICE LOCK GUARANTEE

An optional commercial initiative, to be subscribed at registration, which allows you to lock the paid price of the Study Trip against potential increases due to currency adjustments.

MISCELLANEOUS NOTES

Coverage conditions (trip cancellation, health assistance, medical expenses, trip refund, baggage) are updated at the time of printing this catalog. For matters not explicitly indicated, particularly regarding cancellation timing, submission of documentation, and policy exclusions, refer to the Insurance Conditions provided to all participants. ZERO-INTEREST INSTALLMENT PAYMENT

With Astrolabio, the balance can be paid in 10 EASY ZERO-INTEREST INSTALLMENTS, up to €3,000.

How? During registration, tick the corresponding box and add €90 to the Study Trip deposit for administrative fees. Later, instructions will be emailed to submit the request to the financing company, which will evaluate feasibility. Installment payment must be requested within 2 months of departure, and the balance must be fully settled at least 4 weeks before departure, covering any remaining unfunded differences.
