Kilkenny is a delightful medieval city, famous for its Norman castle and narrow streets lined with unique, independent shops offering ceramics, paintings, and jewellery.
Our school, Kilkenny College, is the largest boarding school in Ireland. Set in a peaceful countryside location, it’s just a short trip from the city and boasts first-class sports facilities.
To learn English, students have 18 hours of lessons per week, including 15 hours of the General Course and 3 hours of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Maths).
News 2026: The school is launching the development of an exciting new English curriculum for next summer!
A new 21st-century English curriculum that uses AI-based teaching tools to provide teachers with the ability to respond dynamically to their students’ linguistic needs.
All teachers are qualified to teach English to foreign students and organize classes based on the results of the initial test, which is essential to determine each student’s language level and place them in the most suitable class.
Study materials are provided by the school, as well as a certificate of attendance, which is issued at the end of the course.
Students will take part in 18 hours of lessons each week, split into 15 hours of General English and 3 hours of interactive STEAM workshops. These workshops cover Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Maths.
All teachers are fully qualified to teach English as a foreign language. Classes are formed based on a placement test taken at the beginning of the course, ensuring each student is placed in an appropriate class for their proficiency level.
The school will provide study materials, and a certificate of attendance will be awarded to all students upon course completion.
