Cirencester: a charming rural town with Roman origins, perfect for your Study Holiday in England surrounded by greenery.
Cirencester is a delightful town in Gloucestershire, known as the capital of the Cotswolds. Rich in Roman history, it features cobbled streets, historic buildings and a truly English atmosphere. The centre is lively and welcoming, with markets, independent shops and cosy cafés. Cirencester combines old-world charm with a relaxed, modern lifestyle.
From here, you can easily reach some of England’s most interesting destinations such as Oxford and Bath, as well as London, which is less than two hours away by coach.
Our school, the Royal Agricultural University, strongly resembles the famous School of Magic from the Harry Potter books. In the past, King Charles often attended the university’s Graduation Ceremonies.
For over 40 years, we have been running language courses at this beautiful countryside college, designed to meet a wide range of needs—from primary school children to students in the first two years of high school.
Population: 19,000
Distance from London: 144 km
Location: Cotswolds
Currency: Pound Sterling
Students can choose between:
– Rooms with private bathroom
– Rooms with shared bathroom
Rooms may be single, double, or triple, located in small buildings within the university grounds. The final allocation will be confirmed by the university in June.
The type of accommodation must be the same for all participants in the group; mixed arrangements are not permitted.
Full board is provided in the university’s beautiful dining hall, with packed lunches during full-day excursions included in the programme.
To help students learn English effectively, 30 hours of lessons are included, with 3 hours dedicated to Culture Exchange sessions held in the morning or afternoon.
Younger students aged 7 to 11 will attend the Explorer course, those aged 11 to 14 the Voyagers course, and students aged 14 to 17 the Trailblazers course.
Students can also take the Trinity GESE exam, which will be held online.
All teachers are qualified to teach English as a foreign language. Classes are divided into levels based on the results of an initial placement test taken by every student.
At the end of the course, each participant will receive a certificate of attendance.
Excursions
3 full-day trips, including:
2 half-day outings in Cirencester, one for a guided tour and one for some free time.
Excursions may be subject to small changes before departure. The final programme will be provided to group leaders upon arrival.
Activities
Free time is always organised with plenty of fun sports and leisure activities such as tennis, cricket, rugby, outdoor cinema, football and field hockey.
Every evening, the staff will organise engaging group activities including disco nights, international evenings, sports tournaments, ghost walks, films in original language, karaoke, chat room, reading club, chill club and much more—always in the company of Italian and international friends met at the college.
