Cambridge is a world-famous university city in the county of Cambridgeshire, best known as the home of the University of Cambridge, founded in 1209. The city is filled with ancient buildings, beautiful college architecture, bridges over the River Cam, gardens, and courtyards that blend seamlessly with its vibrant academic spirit.
As a major centre for research and innovation, Cambridge is home to numerous science and technology parks, start-ups, and biomedical organisations, making it one of the UK’s most forward-thinking cities. It also offers plenty to explore: prestigious museums like the Fitzwilliam, botanical gardens, river walks, historic bridges, and bustling markets.
Our school, Anglia Ruskin University, is a public university in the United Kingdom. Originally founded in 1858 as the Cambridge School of Art, it gained university status in 1992. Located right in the heart of the city, ARU provides the perfect base for young students eager to experience one of England’s most inspiring academic environments.
Students can enjoy high-quality English lessons, comfortable accommodation, and an exciting programme of activities and excursions—all within walking distance of the city’s iconic colleges, museums, and lively centre.

Students will take 18 hours of English lessons per week—15 hours of General Course and 3 hours of Workshop (STEAM and/or 21st Century Skills). The workshops include interactive sessions on subjects such as science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics, adapted to the students’ age group.
New for 2026: the school is developing an exciting new English language curriculum for summer 2026! This modern programme uses AI-based teaching tools, allowing teachers to respond dynamically to students’ language needs.
All teachers are qualified to teach English to foreign students, and classes are organised according to the results of an initial placement test. This ensures every student joins the class that best matches their language level.
At the end of the course, students receive a certificate of attendance.
