Toronto, the capital city of Ontario, has a distinctly European vibe and is a very liveable city. Known worldwide for its skyline reflecting the waters of the great Lake Ontario, and its famously harsh winters. The city comes alive underground in the Path, a 30-kilometre-long pedestrian network linking subway stations to restaurants, museums, wellness centres, ice rinks, sculptures, fountains, and gardens.
Our school, Toronto Metropolitan University, is located in the Garden District near Yonge-Dundas Square. The square is filled with shopping centres, restaurants, and bright billboards, attracting tourists and talented street artists alike.
Students will stay in mini apartments made up of 4 single rooms and 2 bathrooms, within the campus residences.
Meals are provided on a full-board basis in the campus dining hall, and packed lunches will be provided for full-day excursions included in the program.
Students will attend 15 hours of English lessons per week in the General English Course, all held in the mornings.
All teachers are fully qualified to teach English as a foreign language. Classes are formed based on a placement test taken at the beginning of the course, ensuring each student is placed in an appropriate class for their proficiency level.
The school will provide study materials, and a certificate of attendance will be given to all students upon course completion.
There are 2 full-day excursions: one to Niagara Falls and one to Toronto Island.
You’ll also go on 10 afternoon outings to explore the city, including shopping at Eaton Centre, a walking tour around downtown, visiting the CN Tower (entrance included), sunset strolls after dinner, a tour of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario (entrance included), a drive-in movie at the park after dinner, “Oxford Olympics” on the beach, a visit to High Park, Casa Loma (entrance included), Graffiti Alley, Chinatown & Kensington Market, the Art Gallery of Ontario (entrance included) after dinner, and shopping at Vaughan Mills Outlet Mall.
On-campus evenings will be full of fun activities like Karaoke, Movie Nights, Sports, and Disco Nights!
Please Note: The final itinerary may vary slightly before departure. A confirmed schedule will be provided to group leaders upon arrival.
