Greenwich is only a few minutes by train or tube from central London, and is one of the capital city’s most historically fascinating and lively areas.
This district feels like a city within a city, with its bustling centre full of trendy cafes, shops, and department stores. Not to mention the National Maritime Museum, the Cutty Sark, the Royal Observatory, and Greenwich park where you can relax after a day of sightseeing.
Our school, the University of Greenwich’s Maritime Campus was established in 1890. It received its first CGLI certificate in 1892 and became a university in 1992!
Students will stay in single bedrooms with private bathrooms, located in the Daniel Defoe Residence, close to the Greenwich Railway and DLR Stations.
Meals are provided on a full-board basis in the university dining hall, and packed lunches will be provided for full-day excursions included in the program.
Students will attend 15 hours of English lessons per week in the General English Course. Students aged 14 and over with a minimum B1 language level can opt for the World of Work Course instead of the General Course.
They can also register for the online Trinity GESE Exam.
All teachers are fully qualified to teach English as a foreign language. Classes are formed based on a placement test taken at the beginning of the course, ensuring each student is placed in an appropriate class for their proficiency level.
Study materials will be provided by the school, as will a certificate of attendance upon course completion.
There will also be some organised evening outings to see London in all its glory by night!
Please Note: The final itinerary may vary slightly before departure. A confirmed schedule will be provided to group leaders upon arrival.
On-campus evenings will feature fun activities like ice-breakers, a disco, British Quiz Night, Karaoke, International Night, and much more!
